Custom illustration for GREEK THINGS, a concept store in Chora, Naxos, with a focus on contemporary Greek design. The artwork was created for a series of objects designed exclusively for the store.

Drawing on the traditional form of a coat of arms, the composition brings together distinctive elements of Naxos’ history, architecture and natural landscape: the Portara, the bell tower of Bazeos Tower, the agave plant, a Venetian tower, the island’s characteristic lizard (“krokodilaki”), a goat with Mount Zas in the background, and the sea at Grotta beach swept by the north wind.

Within the familiar form of a coat of arms, these different elements of Naxos come together in a unified composition defined by a clean, contemporary visual language.
